  • Tidal Bore - The moon and sun create gravitational forces that act on the waters of the world giving us high and low tides. Thanks to the unique shape and conditions present in the Bay of Fundy these changes are greatly amplified. In fact, the Bay of Fundy is home to the highest recorded tides in the world.
  • Victoria Park - Open Apr 1 to Nov 30 Victoria Park is a 1,000-acre natural park with hiking trails, bandshell, outdoor pool, water spray park, playground, tennis courts, picnic area, washrooms and baseball field. A winding stream flows through a deep gorge, where there are two picturesque waterfalls.
  • The Bras d'Or Lakes - The Bras d'Or Lakes are an area of high cultural significance to the Mi'kmaq people and is a centre of Scottish heritage in Nova Scotia. The area is vibrant with local boating and boasts a thriving oyster & salmonid aquaculture industry.
  • Ski Wentworth - Wentworth is 815 vertical feet of adventure located in Wentworth, Nova Scotia - the Valley of Snow. A wide variety of terrain on 23 trails challenges skiers and riders of all levels. Ski Wentworth is 80 mins from Halifax and 25 minutes from Truro. Conditions permitting Ski Wentworth is open all season long.
  • Acres of the Golden Phesant Bird Park - 8 km (5 mi) east of Truro. Over 50 avian species including parrots, parakeets, finches, canaries and peafowl. Temperature-controlled buildings in winter. Open year-round. Daily, dawn to dusk.
  • Anne Murray Centre - Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 1999, the Centre pays fitting tribute to the achievements of Springhill's internationally acclaimed singing superstar, Anne Murray. A series of award-winning three-dimensional and audio-visual displays feature awards, memorabilia and highlights of her exciting career together with a special exhibit of the dramatic story of her hometown.
  • Colchester Historical Society Museum - Human and natural history of Colchester County, from antiquity to the present day; special temporary exhibits. Genealogical resources; individual family and community histories; photographs. Open year-round. Jul–Aug daily; Sep–Jun Tue–Sat.
  • Little White Schoolhouse Museum - On the former Teachers College campus, now the Nova Scotia Community College campus, this original Riverton School commemorates schoolhouses in Nova Scotia from the mid-1800s to the 1950s. Contains books and artifacts from the era of the one-room schoolhouse.
  • Nova Scotia Agricultural College - NSAC provides students with a welcoming, small-school atmosphere on one of the most modern, best-equipped campuses in the Atlantic region. A NSAC education provides students with a solid foundation for endless higher education and career options. NSAC offers a variety of academic programs that qualify students for diplomas and degrees related to agriculture, aquaculture, business and the environment. We also have programs that prepare students for Veterinary Medicine and Engineering.
  • NS Provincial Exhibition Raceway - Harness racing at its finest. Dining and lounge facilities in glass-enclosed grandstand. Ample parking. Open year-round. Races Sun at 1pm; also selected Thursdays.
  • Truro Tulip Festival - Truro International Tulip Festival. Truro’s 6th annual Truro Tulip Festival featured four days of family fun in Downtown Truro. Over 12,000 people enjoyed a wide variety of festival events. Highlights included beautiful fireworks, an antique market, a craft market, an amazing bluegrass concert, a variety of entertainment “in the tent”, a plant sale, community breakfasts and dinners, lots of activities for kids, including shows by Maritime Marionettes and Sunshine Sue, garden tours and more!
  • Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition - Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition. Truro Exhibition Park. An agricultural fair with livestock competitions, horse shows, arts, crafts, stage entertainment, large carnival, lots to see and do. Program times: noon to 10 pm daily.
  • Nova Scotia 4-H Show - Nova Scotia 4-H Show. Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition Grounds. Enthusiastic 4-H members and leaders from across the province participate in the Nova Scotia 4-H show, the largest independent 4-H show in Canada, and are proud to showcase their livestock and non-livestock projects to the public.
  • Farmers' Market - Located in the heart of town, this outdoor market overflows with friendliness and charm. A Saturday morning meeting place for the past 22 years, the Market offers an ever-changing selection of fresh local produce, handmade crafts, plants and cut flowers, maple products, fresh meats, home baking, and more.
  • Canadian Table Tennis Championships - Nova Scotia Table Tennis Association welcomes 300 players and officials, and up to 700 family members, who will be coming from every corner of Canada, and BC and Quebec in particular. The Junior Tournament is Monday July 12 to Wednesday July 15. The Senior Tournament is Friday July 16 to Sunday July 18.
  • Halifax International Busker Festival - Each year Buskers from around the world gather in Halifax to entertain the over half million visitors to the Halifax waterfront in August. Join the Buskers while they amaze and humour you. What a way to spend a day!
  • NS International Air Show - Located at Shearwater Airport, this is the largest combined Air Show, Armed Forces Day, Aerospace Exhibition and Lifestyle Exhibition in Canada. The NS International Air Show features live aerial demonstrations, static displays of the latest military aircraft and technology. Highlights include the F-16 Falcon, F-18 Hornet, B-1B Bomber, and Canada's world famous aerial stunt team, the Snowbirds.
